How Finn Sees The World
In the latest ep of Adventure Time, we find out that Finn is Red/Green Colorblind. Also known as Deuteranopia, it is most common in males, especially Caucasian males.
Using a Colorblind Simulator (go try more pics yourself!) these are a compilation of how Finn probably sees the Land of Ooh. Especially interesting is that he doesn’t really see how pink Princess Bubblegum is, or how red Flame Princess is!
Also, here’s an example of why Finn probably confused the Emerald for a Ruby:
Kind of easy to confuse the two in a dark cave.
THIS IS ACTUALLY KIND OF REALLY RAD
I screamed when I saw Kimgehu’s Kiki’s Delivery Service crossover (http://kimgehu.tumblr.com/post/25969058882/kikis-delivery-service-crossover-d) then I thought it’d be cute the other way around too. I was thinking about the scenes where Tombo would follow Kiki around and annoy her.
Okay, back to homework.
James Baxter — Moses from Prince of Egypt [x]
THE ANIMATION IN THIS MOVIE IS SO PERF UGH
What you mean to say is that James Baxter is perfect <3 The man is an animation god/legend. FOR OBVIOUS REASONS. In fact, the man is especially renown for his work on “Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron”
That’s why in an episode of Adventure Time, there is an incredibly well animated horse who rolls around on his ball and says his name “Jaaaaaaaaames Baxter!” and brings cheer to everyone around him. Finn and Jake become jealous of his ability to make people smile and try to mimic him, find their own way of spreading joy and then finally accept that sometimes you can’t be as good as some other people at some things. It was a commentary by Pendleton Ward about how he always wanted to be a legend just like James, but in the end you have to do you own thing and achieve greatness in your own way.
James Baxter voiced the horse himself, too.
So awhile back I noticed that a lot of Adventure Time songs have similar chords in them. I decided to record this for fun! It’s basically almost every song from Adventure Time all mashed up. I know I missed some songs, but keep in mind that this was improvised. :D
I’M GONNA BURY YOU IN MY BACON PANCAKES
Princess Bubblegum - Analysis
Disclaimer: I’m well aware that a lot of folks probably already knew all of what I’m going to say here. This doesn’t apply to you if that’s the case. I do hope that it sums up everything nicely for you, though.I am repeatedly astounded by the naivete of Adventure Time fans when it comes to any information regarding Princess Bubblegum. Over and over again, people have seemed utterly shocked and amazed at “reveals” of information that has been more than clear for a very long time. And even worse, people take this new information and conclude that Bubblegum is evil, or deserving of some other needless criticism. This character is more awesome, complex, and strong than AT fans, even those who love her, seem to acknowledge.
Let’s stop being in denial and lay down some facts (and theories too).
Adventure Time: The Vault [full spoilers]
Okay, I really have to address the amount of storyline payoff in Season 5 of Adventure Time. This is kind of amazing.
First of all, the importance of dreaming and its connections to reality as this sort of constant plot/subplot is one of the things I love about AT. So many of Finn’s actions and decisions in this season have been based on dreams, and the importance of them is generally reinforced by most of the characters. This has been a theme on AT for a while now, but has been especially emphasized in Season 5.
In this particular recurring dream, Finn has been sleepwalking and trashing rooms in the treehouse. The Ghost Lady, as she’s been dubbed, has appeared many times in previous episodes (The Creeps, Sky Witch, King Worm). Lots of rampant speculation exists about who she is or was, and why Finn is so afraid of her.
As it turns out, this lady is in fact Finn from a previous life, who has unfinished business with Princess Bubblegum.
