I think it’d be really cool if lyrically Green Day started exploring the implications of being well off aging millionaires struggling to maintain their punk relevance
Rappers do introspection so fucking well and it’s not like 25 years together as a band wouldn’t teach you some life lessons
That could be the most cathartic and refreshing release from a top 40 rock band ever but instead you’re probably just going to get ham-fisted political allegories for the next three or four years before they launch an 8-year-long farewell tour with a live orchestra
